2023-02-24 from Nandaime to Pochomil
I left Nandaime this morning for an unknown direction.
I steered with the wind. I took the main road in the morning, it was calm and quiet.
When I arrived in Diriamba I decided to branch off to a small road called MN-287. At first everything was fine the road was paved. I found it too easy and beautiful! After a few kilometers the road turned into a gravel road, then at times into a road of big rocks that weren't very nice. Twice I had to cross rivers because there were no bridges. If I ever hear you crying about the state of the roads in Quebec, I'm going to tell you to go for a ride on the MN-287 road!!!
I finally arrived in Pochomil, a small village located on the edge of the Pacific Ocean after driving 75 km. It was a nice ride anyway. I found myself a decent room for one night at $20 USD. In 2004, I had visited this area for the first time in Nicaragua, I had stayed at the Barcelo Montelimar with my dad.
The heat in Pochomil is intense. At 4:00 p.m. I was still in the shade, because the sun was too strong. Around 4:30 p.m., I went swimming in the sea and took a long walk. I returned just in time to capture my first sunset in Nicaragua in 2023.
Tomorrow I will move towards León.
