Here is the short story of this little bike ride.

June 23, 2023 - Day 1 - Departure

The start was in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. We covered 54 km on the route called the Montérégiade . This cycle path links the city of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and Granby. passing through Farnham. This is Lock 9 which is part of the Chambly Canal National Historic Site.

We made a quick stop in Farnham at a microbrewery called Farnham Ale & Lager. After consuming a 5.4% Kewlkatz Cooler with Lemon Iced Tea and a poutine I was ready to hit the road again towards Granby.

The bike path named Montérégiade crosses beautiful fields. The heat was not too intense if I compare it to Costa Rica, but it was a hot summer day in Quebec. Don't forget to bring 2 bottles of water to keep yourself well hydrated.

After a nice ride on the bike path we arrived near Lake Boivin in Granby before settling in at the St-Christophe hotel. We were able to take advantage of the facilities to swim and loosen up our muscles in the hot baths.

For the rest of the day, we went to eat at the restaurant called La Maison Boire, the sunset was stunning over the Yamaska River.

I really liked downtown Granby. The main street is very pretty. I really liked seeing the majestic Ste-Famille church.

We decided to stop for dinner at Maison Boire. The latter was built in 1896 and was worth $1,800 at the time. The house now houses a super luxurious restaurant.

This is a perfect place to have a nice gourmet dinner. The outdoor terrace is very well appointed. The service from our server, Serge, was truly amazing!!
Thanks Serge!

June 24, 2023 - Day 2 - Towards Eastman

We enjoyed a lovely breakfast at the hotel before getting back in the saddle.

The second day started off badly with torrential rain. Fortunately the temperature was warm. This time we took the cycle path called the Estriade to go towards Waterloo.

Luckily the rain stopped, allowing us to visit downtown Waterloo.

ARTRIA - THE ROUTE OF WORKS IN NATURE

This is the work entitled The Guardian.

Saint Luke's Anglican Church, Waterloo

We also had a little break at Duvoquic, a small pastry shop that I highly recommend. An incredible place with perfect service.
Thank you for the good service!

We had dinner at Maurice Pizzeria and the rain started again with a vengeance.

The rest of the route was on the country track in the rain. We then joined the cycle path called the Montagnarde to finally reach the Spa Eastman where we spent our second night.

We once again took advantage of the superb facilities of the Spa Eastman to relax our muscles.

Afterwards, we went to the hotel restaurant and enjoyed a delicious meal in a very lively atmosphere.

After the meal, we chatted around the fire. It was a beautiful evening, the sky cleared and we were able to observe Mount Orford from a never-before-seen angle.

June 25, 2023 - Day 3 - Towards Magog

The day dawned on a smog-filled sky. The sun had a very special color.

After breakfast at the hotel we returned to the mountain bike path that winds up Mount Orford. This was the most difficult part of the path, but fortunately there was no rain.

We arrived at Mont Orford National Park and took a short break on the edge of the Cerisiers pond.

Afterwards, we arrived in Magog a few minutes later to enjoy a good meal at Bistro Koz which is located on the shores of Lake Memphremagog.

We picked up our vehicle and drove from Magog to Sherbrooke, taking great care to secure our bikes with 3 padlocks!!!

We had a great time on the region's bike paths. For my part, I was doing this trip for the first time. I appreciated the transport of our luggage by the company Voyager à Vélo . Thanks to Tourisme Cantons-de-l'Est !

Thank you Isabelle ❤️
